Anthem by Ayn Rand

Hey you guys! So today I am here for my review of Anthem by Ayn Rand. I had to read this for my history class, and I really enjoyed it. About 3.5-4 stars for me.
I loved the messages of Anthem. The ending was beautifully done and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I also loved the use of "we". Overall, the novel was incredibly well done. I definitely recommend checking it out!
The reason I docked a few stars: the writing style felt detached to me, and I didn't feel that I was consistently connected to the story. Rather than feeling like I was in the story the whole time, sometimes I felt like an outsider who was interested in what was going on, but couldn't clearly see and understand everything. Sometimes I did feel like I was totally in the story and I really connected with it, and other times I felt the opposite.
The world was developed more over time, but at first the reader is just thrown into the story, and it is a bit disorienting in the first chapter. After that, though, it gets much easier to read and understand.
As I said before, I definitely recommend reading it! It's pretty short, and quite intriguing.

Let me know what you thought down below. I'll talk to you guys later! :) Bye!
